L'organisation Africa's Voices Foundation recrute un(e) assistant(e) de recherche pour appuyer ses activités en Somalie, dans le cadre d'un contrat de consultance à la demande. Sous la supervision de l'équipe, le/la titulaire sera chargé(e) de réaliser des revues de littérature pour éclairer la conception des projets, de coder, tagger et analyser des données en langue locale (somali), et de conduire des analyses qualitatives approfondies. Il/elle participera également à la conception globale des programmes et des recherches, à la rédaction de rapports, ainsi qu'à l'élaboration d'enquêtes et de questionnaires, incluant leur traduction. Ces missions s'inscrivent dans un objectif de production d'évidences à partir des voix des citoyens pour éclairer les décisions des acteurs humanitaires et de développement.
Le profil recherché correspond à un(e) professionnel(le) justifiant d'une licence dans une discipline pertinente (sociologie, science politique, développement international, santé publique, psychologie sociale) et d'au moins deux ans d'expérience dans la conception et la mise en œuvre de projets de recherche, d'analyse ou de suivi-évaluation. Une connaissance du changement social et comportemental, de la recherche d'opinion publique ou de la programmation humanitaire est requise. Des compétences solides en méthodes qualitatives (analyse de contenu, analyse thématique, théorie ancrée) et en recherche de terrain (focus groupes, entretiens semi-directifs) sont attendues. Le/la candidat(e) doit maîtriser parfaitement le somali, y compris ses variations régionales, et avoir une expérience de traduction anglais-somali pour des programmes de développement. Une excellente maîtrise de l'anglais écrit, une grande rigueur, un sens du détail et une capacité à travailler sous pression complètent le profil.
Sur le plan contractuel, il s'agit d'une consultance rémunérée 50 USD par jour (inclusif de taxes), avec une disponibilité immédiate et un lieu de travail en Somalie. KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Perform literature reviews to inform project design.
- Coding, tagging and analysing local-language data.
- Qualitative analysis of local-language data.
- Support overall programme and research design.
- Drafting reports as required.
- Assist with other tasks as and when necessary, including survey and questionnaire design and translation.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant social science discipline (such as sociology, political science, international development, public health, social psychology).
- Minimum two(2) years professional experience working as part of the design and implementation of research and analysis/monitoring and evaluation projects.
- Knowledge/experience of working in social/behaviour change campaigning OR public opinion research OR humanitarian programming
- Experience in qualitative research methods such as content analysis, thematic analysis and grounded theory.
- Experience designing and conducting field research, especially focus group discussions and semi-structured interviews.
- Excellent Somali language skills, with understanding of regional variations and dialects within Somalia highly desirable.
- Experience in English-Somali translation for development programmes.
- Fluency in written English.
- Extremely high attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and actively, seeking to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Proven ability to deliver tasks under tight deadlines
