Ce poste de Field Officer (responsable de terrain) est basé dans le comté de Kapoeta East, au Soudan du Sud, à 100% sur le terrain, au sein du programme pays de VSF Germany. Sous la supervision du Program Manager, le/la titulaire assure la mise en œuvre des activités relatives aux moyens d'existence, incluant la production et la santé animales, ainsi que la gestion des ressources naturelles. Ses missions principales consistent à faciliter l'exécution du projet conformément aux plans établis, appuyer les activités quotidiennes de terrain comme les distributions de bétail, les formations et la mobilisation communautaire, collecter et analyser les données de suivi, et veiller à la participation effective des bénéficiaires. Le poste requiert également un appui logistique pour les ateliers, une gestion administrative de base, et une capacité à résoudre les problèmes en temps réel avec les communautés. Le profil recherché allie un diplôme en sciences animales, médecine vétérinaire, agriculture, gestion ou développement communautaire, à au moins trois ans d'expérience de terrain dans des projets humanitaires ou de développement. Une expérience similaire à Kapoeta East et une bonne connaissance du contexte et des langues locales sont fortement appréciées. Le/la candidat(e) idéal(e) possède des compétences en collecte de données, une autonomie de travail en zone isolée, un permis moto, et adhère aux principes d'équipe, d'égalité de genre, de sensibilité au VIH/SIDA et d'approche participative. Les conditions proposées incluent un contrat national à durée déterminée de 12 mois renouvelable en fonction des résultats. La date de prise de poste est fixée au 15 septembre 2026. Background

Vétérinaires Sans Frontières - Germany (VSF Germany) is a non-governmental, non-profit making international Organization, engaged in the field of veterinary relief and development work providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is of importance. With support in animal health, agriculture, marketing, and food safety, VSFG works towards food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities. VSF Germany implements activities in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Somalia.

VSF Germany seeks to recruit qualified and well experienced staff for the position of Field Officer (2 positions).

To be based at VSF Germany office at the field location Kapoeta East, South Sudan. The holder of this position will have an overall environmental and social safeguards oversight for all projects implemented in South Sudan Country Program under VSF Germany.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be assigned the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the implementation of livelihood component (livestock production, animal health, and natural resource management) of the project in accordance with project design, implementation planning and other interim plans.
  • Support daily field activities, including livestock distributions, trainings, and community mobilizations.
  • Collect field data, monitor beneficiary participation, and report on progress.
  • Assist in logistics for events (e.g., workshops) and handle basic administrative tasks.
  • Engage with communities to identify needs and ensure inclusive implementation.
  • Provide on-ground troubleshooting for project challenges

Experience, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Animal Science, Veterinary medicine/animal health; Agriculture, Business Management, Community Development, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' field experience in humanitarian or development projects. Working in International organization with similar assignment in Kapoeta East is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local context and languages is essential.
  • Basic data collection skills; ability to work independently in remote areas.
  • Motorcycle license or field mobility experience.
  • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, participatory approach and sustainable development.
