Missions principales
Sous la supervision du Program Manager, le/la Field Officer assure la mise en œuvre du volet moyens d'existence du projet, couvrant l'élevage, la santé animale et la gestion des ressources naturelles. Il/elle facilite les activités quotidiennes de terrain : distributions de bétail, formations des éleveurs et mobilisation communautaire. En collaboration avec les équipes programmes et la coordination, il/elle collecte les données de terrain, suit la participation des bénéficiaires et contribue au suivi-évaluation et au reporting. Il/elle appuie la logistique des ateliers et événements, gère des tâches administratives courantes et identifie les besoins avec les communautés. Il/elle exerce aussi une supervision des sauvegardes environnementales et sociales de l'ensemble des projets du programme Soudan du Sud et assure le traitement des difficultés opérationnelles.
Profil recherche
Le poste requiert un diplôme en sciences animales, médecine vétérinaire/santé animale, agriculture, gestion d'entreprise, développement communautaire ou équivalent, ainsi qu'un minimum de trois ans d'expérience terrain en contexte humanitaire ou de développement, idéalement au sein d'une organisation internationale et à Kapoeta East. Une connaissance approfondie du contexte local et des langues locales est indispensable. Le candidat doit maîtriser la collecte de données, être autonome en zone isolée et disposer d'un permis moto ou d'une aptitude à la mobilité terrain. Il doit adhérer au travail d'équipe, à l'égalité des genres, à la sensibilité au VIH/SIDA, à l'approche participative et au développement durable. Les candidatures féminines sont fortement encouragées.
Conditions proposees
Ce poste national est basé à Kapoeta East County, Soudan du Sud, avec une présence terrain à 100 %. Le contrat est à durée déterminée de 12 mois renouvelables selon la performance, avec un début prévu le 15 septembre 2026. La rémunération est déterminée selon le niveau d'expérience, sans montant précisé. Vétérinaires Sans Frontières - Germany (VSF Germany) is a non-governmental, non-profit making international Organization, engaged in the field of veterinary relief and development work providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is of importance. With support in animal health, agriculture, marketing, and food safety, VSFG works towards food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities. VSF Germany implements activities in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Somalia.
VSF Germany seeks to recruit qualified and well experienced staff for the position of Field Officer (2 positions).
To be based at VSF Germany office at the field location Kapoeta East, South Sudan. The holder of this position will have an overall environmental and social safeguards oversight for all projects implemented in South Sudan Country Program under VSF Germany.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be assigned the following duties and responsibilities:
- Facilitate the implementation of livelihood component (livestock production, animal health, and natural resource management) of the project in accordance with project design, implementation planning and other interim plans.
- Support daily field activities, including livestock distributions, trainings, and community mobilizations.
- Collect field data, monitor beneficiary participation, and report on progress.
- Assist in logistics for events (e.g., workshops) and handle basic administrative tasks.
- Engage with communities to identify needs and ensure inclusive implementation.
- Provide on-ground troubleshooting for project challenges
Experience, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Animal Science, Veterinary medicine/animal health; Agriculture, Business Management, Community Development, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' field experience in humanitarian or development projects. Working in International organization with similar assignment in Kapoeta East is preferred.
- Knowledge of local context and languages is essential.
- Basic data collection skills; ability to work independently in remote areas.
- Motorcycle license or field mobility experience.
- Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, participatory approach and sustainable development.
