Presentation du poste
Le poste de chauffeur de terrain, basé à Kapoeta East au Soudan du Sud, relève du Field Finance and Admin Officer au sein du département Administration de Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Germany (VSF Germany). Ce poste national, à temps plein avec 100 % de déplacements sur les sites du comté de Kapoeta East, vise à garantir des services de transport sûrs et fiables pour le personnel et les visiteurs de l'ONG, dans un contexte humanitaire pastoral et de développement de l'élevage. Missions principales : assurer la conduite des véhicules légers de la mission, vérifier quotidiennement les niveaux d'huile, d'eau, de carburant, les pneus, les freins et l'outillage avant chaque départ, maintenir les véhicules propres et en bon état, planifier et suivre les maintenances préventives et les réparations courantes. Le chauffeur tient les registres d'utilisation des véhicules, y compris la consommation de carburant, le kilométrage et les journaux de bord. Il veille au respect du code de la route local et des règles internes d'utilisation des véhicules, sécurise les équipements et stationne les véhicules conformément aux procédures. Il assure également le transport du personnel sur les zones de projet, la livraison et la réception de documents officiels, ainsi que l'exécution de tâches administratives courantes. Profil recherché : niveau secondaire complété, permis de conduire valide pour véhicules légers, minimum 4 ans d'expérience comme chauffeur, dont au moins 2 ans au sein d'une ONG internationale ou nationale. Le candidat doit avoir un excellent dossier de conduite, une bonne connaissance des règles de conduite et des compétences en réparations mécaniques de base. Une bonne connaissance du contexte et de la zone de projet est requise. Langues : maîtrise du Toposa, niveau correct en arabe et en anglais. Les candidates femmes sont fortement encouragées à postuler. Conditions proposées : contrat national de 12 mois renouvelable selon la performance, début prévu au 15 septembre 2026. Vétérinaires Sans Frontières - Germany (VSF Germany) is a non-governmental, non-profit making international Organization, engaged in the field of veterinary relief and development work providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is of importance. With support in animal health, agriculture, marketing, and food safety, VSFG works towards food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities. VSF Germany implements activities in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Somalia.
VSF Germany seeks to recruit qualified and well experienced staff for the position of Field Driver (1 Position). To be based at VSF Germany office at the field location Kapoeta East (100%), South Sudan. The holder of this position will have an overall environmental and social safeguards oversight for all projects implemented in South Sudan Country Program under VSF Germany.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance and supervision of the project Manager and field Admin and finance officer, the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to the VSF Germany staff officials and visitor ensuring highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of driving vehicle handling and security issues. The Driver also demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provision of reliable and secure driving services to the Staffs
- Properly check oil, tire lights, water, petrol, nuts, brakes and tools.
- Ensures that the vehicle is clean and tidy at all times.
- Use the vehicles only when the trip is authorized by concerned supervisor.
- Secures vehicle equipment and ensures that the vehicle is securely placed with locking devices at all times.
- Ensures regular vehicle service and other maintenances on time as required.
- Maintain records of vehicle usage (including fuel consumption, mileage, and trip logs).
- Understanding of the organization vehicle utilization guidelines and country traffic law.
- Responsible for daily up-keep and cleaning of project vehicles, scheduling and follow up routine maintenance activities.
- Ensuring readiness of the vehicle for transport service by checking oil, water, fuel, tires and other parts of the vehicle prior to driving.
- Perform project routine business, such as receiving and delivering official project documentation
- Drive VSF-Germany personnel to their project areas as assigned.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Secondary education completion having a valid driving license for the field vehicles.
- Minimum of 4 years’ work experience as a light vehicle driver.
- Safe driving record, knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in basic vehicle repair tasks.
- At least 2 years of work experience with International/National NGO working environment.
- Good knowledge and work experience in the project area.
- Language Requirements: Fluent in Toposa language and fair in Arabic and English.
