Chauffeur – Rwanda (CDD)
Missions principales
Le chauffeur assure le transport des intrants agricoles et non agricoles entre les sites de One Acre Fund/Tubura au Rwanda, en respectant les délais, les quantités et la qualité documentées. Il collabore avec l’équipe entrepôt pour le chargement, le déchargement et la vérification des cargaisons, sécurise les matériaux pendant le transit afin de prévenir pertes, vols, altérations ou dommages, et collecte en amont des informations sur l’accessibilité des sites et des bornes de recharge. Il contribue au suivi-logistique des opérations et à la coordination avec les parties prenantes aux points d’origine et de destination.
Sous supervision, il réalise des contrôles hebdomadaires du véhicule, effectue des réparations mineures, signale les besoins de maintenance et veille à la disponibilité des documents, kits de premiers secours et pièces détachées. Il gère les documents de livraison (bons de livraison, cartes de chargement, fiches de gestion camion/TMS), obtient les signatures officielles et retourne les documents signés dans un délai d’un jour ouvré. Il alerte immédiatement son responsable en cas d’accident, problème mécanique, de recharge, météo difficile, route inaccessible, écart de données ou refus de signature, et transmet les informations essentielles sur les essais de camions électriques (coordonnées GPS, autonomie en km, niveau de batterie, expérience de recharge, qualité des routes).
Profil recherche
Le poste exige un permis de conduire valide de catégorie C, une expérience de conduite de camions de marchandises sur routes non bitumées hors de Kigali, ainsi qu’une bonne connaissance des routes locales et des outils de cartographie/GPS. Le candidat doit maîtriser les principes de sécurité routière et disposer de connaissances pratiques en mécanique des véhicules électriques, notamment l’entretien des camions et l’interprétation de l’autonomie/batterie. Une communication efficace en kinyarwanda, à l’oral comme à l’écrit, est requise. Sont également attendus ponctualité, fiabilité, sens du service client, rigueur documentaire et capacité à travailler en coordination avec les équipes logistiques et d’entrepôt.
Conditions proposees
Le contrat est à durée déterminée de trois mois, basé à Kigali, au Rwanda. La prise de fonction est souhaitée dès que possible. Les avantages incluent une assurance santé et des congés payés. About the Role
Seeking a driver to transport agricultural and non-agricultural inputs between OAF sites, maintain the fleet and cargo in excellent condition, and provide insights on truck operations and charging to inform future electric truck ownership.
Responsibilities
Cargo Transport
- Transport agricultural and non-agricultural inputs between assigned OAF sites, ensuring delivery strictly to the specified locations within set timelines.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to load, offload, and reload trucks, verifying that the physical cargo matches the exact quantity and quality stated on delivery documents.
- Secure all materials in transit using appropriate equipment to prevent loss, theft, tampering, or damage (e.g., perforations, wet bags, or torn stitching).
- Proactively gather information regarding the location and accessibility of field sites and chargers within the assigned district prior to departure.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct weekly vehicle checks, perform minor repairs, and submit maintenance requests to your manager to ensure that the vehicle under their care is kept in good running condition at all times.
- Mitigate damage to the truck by avoiding risky routes or driving techniques.
- Ensure safety and custody of the vehicles including tools.
- Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, registration, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle.
- Ensure that, in the event of an accident involving the vehicle, the necessary steps required by rules and regulations are followed.
Documentation & Communication
- Accurately manage all delivery documents, including Delivery Notes, Load Cards, and Truck Management Sheets (TMS). Return fully signed delivery documents to your manager within one (1) business day of delivery.
- Obtain official signatures from authorized OAF representatives at both the originating and destination sites to confirm the exact weight/number of inputs dispatched and received.
- Immediately notify your manager via text (or call for urgent cases) in the event of accidents, field staff unavailability, data discrepancies, charging problems, mechanical problems, adverse weather, route accessibility issues, data discrepancies, or if any party refuses to sign the delivery documents.
- Communicate regularly relevant trial information, such as GPS coordinates, KM range, battery levels, charging experience, driving experience, road quality, etc.
- Ensure that all required driving training is successfully completed and certifications are kept up to date

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- Valid category C driver’s licence
- Experience driving cargo trucks on dirt roads outside of Kigali
- Working knowledge of local roads and routes, ability to utilize maps / GPS systems
- Working knowledge of electric vehicle mechanics (truck maintenance, interpret truck KM range / battery life)
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in Kinyarwanda
- Punctual and reliable, customer service
