Le poste de Chef de mission pour Norwegian Church Aid en Zambie, basé à Lusaka, relève de la direction régionale pour le Malawi et la Zambie. La mission principale consiste à assurer le leadership stratégique du bureau pays, à représenter l’organisation auprès des autorités, des bailleurs de fonds, des Églises et des acteurs de la société civile, et à piloter la mise en œuvre du cadre stratégique 2025-2029. Le titulaire devra diriger la mobilisation de ressources, développer un portefeuille de financements et entretenir des relations solides avec les donateurs institutionnels et privés. Il ou elle aura également la responsabilité globale de la gestion des équipes, de la conformité des opérations, de la gestion financière, de la sécurité du personnel et de l’application des mécanismes de sauvegarde. Le poste implique de renforcer les partenariats avec le secteur privé sur des thématiques telles que les industries extractives, la sécurité alimentaire, l’agriculture durable, le changement climatique et la gestion environnementale. Une collaboration étroite avec le gouvernement zambien est attendue pour concevoir, déployer et étendre des programmes luttant contre la pauvreté et les inégalités. Le chef de mission devra également promouvoir le plaidoyer, l’inclusion, la redevabilité et l’intégration de la protection dans les interventions de développement et d’urgence.
Pour ce poste, NCA recherche un profil senior confirmé, titulaire d’un master dans un domaine pertinent ou justifiant d’une expérience significative équivalente, avec au moins sept ans d’expérience en leadership. Une expertise éprouvée en levée de fonds et en gestion de relations avec les bailleurs est indispensable, ainsi qu’une expérience de direction d’équipes pluridisciplinaires. Une connaissance des dynamiques de la société civile zambienne, des partenariats multipartites et des secteurs extractif, agricole et climatique est vivement souhaitée. Le candidat idéal fait preuve de vision stratégique, de fortes capacités de réseautage et d’influence, de management participatif, d’intégrité, de diplomatie et de sensibilité culturelle. L’excellente maîtrise de l’anglais est requise; la pratique de langues locales zambiennes est un atout.

About the position
Are you an accomplished leader with a passion for social justice, civil society strengthening and sustainable development? NCA is seeking a Head of Mission to lead our Zambia programme through strategic leadership, fundraising and representation.
Short description of the role
Reporting to the Area Director for Malawi and Zambia, the Head of Mission will provide overall leadership of NCA Zambia in Lusaka. The position leads external representation, donor engagement, fundraising, strategy implementation and has overall management responsibility for all staff in Zambia.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for NCA Zambia.
- Lead fundraising, donor engagement and resource mobilisation.
- Represent NCA with government, donors, churches and civil society.
- Lead and develop a high-performing national team.
- Ensure sound operational management, compliance and security oversight.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field; significant experience may compensate.
- Minimum 7 years senior leadership experience.
- Proven fundraising and donor relationship management experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in building civil society-private sector partnerships on themes including the extractives industry; food security and agriculture; and climate and environmental stewardship is desirable.
- Experience in partnering with the Government of Zambia to design, deliver and scale programmes which address poverty and inequality is desirable.
- Excellent English communication skills. Fluency in languages commonly spoken in Zambia is desirable.
