Presentation du poste

Missions principales

About One Acre Fund

Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Across nine countries that together are home to two-thirds of Africa's farmers, we provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a wide range of other agricultural services. On average, this model enables any farmer to increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent, while permanently improving their resilience. This is all made possible by our team of 9,000+ full-time staff, drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. To learn more, please see our Why Work Here blog post.

Our Tanzania program, founded in 2013, supports more than 100,000 farmers with quality farm supplies, as well as fruit trees. Our team in Tanzania is headquartered in Iringa and supported by three smaller offices—Mbeya and Njombe in the southern highlands and Moshi in the north where the team is focused on expanding our services to new clients. One Acre Fund works in select areas in the Iringa and Mbeya regions, with a growing presence in the country’s north.

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated investigative professionals—an Internal Investigation Coordinator (3–5+ years) and an Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor (1–2+ years)—to safeguard our operations, secure rural supply chains, and drive organizational integrity across Tanzania.

In these roles, you will protect our business units by conducting thorough field investigations, executing stock and vendor audits, and mitigating internal and external fraud risks.

  • As an Internal Investigation Coordinator: You will lead complex, high-stakes fraud investigations, manage legal and HR escalations, direct team oversight, and advise senior leadership on operational risks.
  • As an Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor: You will act as our key ground investigator, executing routine fraud checks, stock audits, and evidence gathering while collaborating directly with the Coordinator to resolve field cases.

Whether managing high-risk cases or executing ground-level fact-finding, both roles are essential to protecting our community trust, securing assets, and ensuring fair practices from the field to headquarters.

Responsibilities

Shared Responsibilities (Both Roles)

  • Field Investigations & Audits: Conduct independent field investigations into suspected fraud, theft, inventory stock leakages, and policy non-compliance across rural retail, tree, and warehouse business units.
  • Evidence & Case Documentation: Gather physical and digital evidence, conduct witness/subject interviews, and prepare chronological event logs in compliance with legal guidelines. Meticulously track and log all cases on Kissflow.
  • Legal & CMA Case Support: Prepare evidence bundles, interview notes, and documentation for internal disciplinary panels, CMA (Commission for Mediation and Arbitration) proceedings, and formal legal cases in Tanzania.
  • Community & Customer Complaint Resolution: Investigate and resolve farmer and customer complaints promptly to maintain community trust and protect organizational reputation.
  • Fraud Risk & Prevention: Identify operational vulnerabilities and support the rollout of targeted anti-fraud training programs and risk evaluations across operational teams.
  • Reporting: Produce clear, comprehensive investigation and audit reports detailing factual findings, control failures, and actionable recommendations.

Level-Specific Responsibilities

Internal Investigation Coordinator

  • High-Risk & Complex Cases: Lead complex, high-value fraud cases, major warehouse losses, senior-level misconduct, and procurement/vendor fraud inquiries.
  • Legal Representation & Advice: Coordinate directly with external counsel, represent or support representation at CMA sessions, and directly advise senior management on case outcomes and legal risks.
  • People Management: Line-manage the Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor (JL4), providing technical oversight, case assignment, guidance, and quality control on all work.

Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor

  • Execution Focus: Focus primarily on routine field-based investigations, minor-to-moderate fraud, and inventory stock checks.
  • Case Support: Serve as the ground lead gathering facts and evidence for major or high-risk cases owned by the Coordinator.
  • Witness Role: Appear strictly as a factual witness in internal disciplinary panels, CMA arbitrations, or court proceedings.

Career Growth and Development

We have a strong culture of constant learning and we invest in developing our people. You’ll have weekly check-ins with your manager, access to mentorship and training programs, and regular feedback on your performance. We hold career reviews every six months, and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals. You’ll have the opportunity to shape a growing organization and build a rewarding long-term career.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

Shared Requirements (Both Roles)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of Tanzanian labor regulations, primary/district court prosecution processes, and legal proceedings.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Kissflow (or similar case management tools).
  • Languages: Fluent in both Swahili and English (written and spoken).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to field locations and vendor sites within Tanzania (30–40% of the work month, often on short notice).
  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Experience Requirements by Role

Internal Investigation Coordinator (Level 5)

  • Minimum Experience: 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate investigations, audit, or legal case management.
  • Complex Case Leadership: At least 2 years of experience leading complex, high-risk fraud investigations, high-value asset loss inquiries, and senior-level misconduct cases (preferably within agriculture or supply chain environments).
  • People Management & Oversight: Proven experience managing staff (direct supervision of Level 4 supervisors) and providing technical guidance, quality control, and direction on investigation files.

Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor (Level 4)

  • Minimum Experience: 1 to 2+ years of relevant experience in corporate investigations, audit, security, compliance, or legal case management.
  • Practical Fieldwork: Demonstrated hands-on experience conducting routine field investigations, minor fraud checks, and witness/subject interviews.
  • Case Execution: Experience gathering physical and digital evidence and preparing factual groundwork to support broader case teams.
