Dans le cadre de l’initiative #ShadowCD, la candidate sélectionnée occupera symboliquement le rôle de Directrice Pays de Plan International Nigeria pendant une journée. Elle participera à des rencontres de haut niveau avec des décideurs et acteurs influents, contribuera aux échanges stratégiques sur l’égalité de genre et la participation des filles à la prise de décision. Elle portera la voix des filles et jeunes femmes, notamment sur les barrières sociales, les normes discriminatoires et les enjeux de protection et d’autonomisation. Cette immersion lui offrira une expérience concrète de coordination, de représentation institutionnelle et de plaidoyer, en lien avec les équipes programme et les partenaires. Elle devra également s’impliquer dans un mentorat annuel, renforcer ses compétences en communication, leadership et advocacy, et inspirer d’autres filles à devenir agents de changement.
Profil recherche
L’appel s’adresse aux filles âgées de 18 à 24 ans au moment de la candidature, de nationalité nigériane et résidant actuellement à Abuja. Les candidates doivent démontrer un intérêt marqué pour l’égalité de genre, le leadership, le plaidoyer et l’activisme, ainsi qu’un potentiel de leadership et la capacité de représenter positivement la voix des filles. Aucune restriction de parcours, de milieu social ou de handicap n’est exigée ; les filles issues de communautés sous-représentées ou marginalisées sont particulièrement encouragées à postuler. Une aptitude à travailler en coordination avec des réseaux de jeunes, des groupes communautaires et des partenaires de la société civile est un atout. Les membres de réseaux jeunesse affiliés à Plan International Nigeria, notamment Girls Get Equal (GGE) et le Youth Advisory Panel (YAP), sont vivement invités à candidater. La candidate retenue devra s’engager à respecter les exigences du programme et à participer activement au mentorat proposé.
Conditions proposees
Le programme prévoit une immersion d’une journée dans la fonction de Directrice Pays, couplée à un mentorat d’une durée d’un an. Il ne s’agit pas d’un contrat de travail ; les modalités contractuelles, la rémunération éventuelle et les appuis logistiques ne sont pas précisés dans l’offre. La participation vise à renforcer les compétences en leadership, plaidoyer, communication et réseautage, et à offrir une visibilité au sein des espaces de décision. La candidate sélectionnée bénéficiera d’un accompagnement pour interagir avec des leaders influents et contribuer à des conversations stratégiques. L’initiative s’inscrit dans la campagne #StandWithGirls et le modèle de leadership transgénérationnel de Plan International.

As part of our #StandWithGirls campaign, Plan International Nigeria launched the #ShadowCD Initiative in 2022 to mark the International Day of the Girl Child. The initiative aims to inspire girls to take on leadership roles, challenge harmful social norms and behaviours, and amplify their voices on issues that affect their lives and futures.
We are now inviting girls across Abuja to apply for the 2026/2027 Shadow Country Director Programme.
This unique opportunity offers one girl the chance to step into the role of Plan International Nigeria's Country Director for a day, gain first-hand leadership experience, participate in a year-long mentorship programme, and strengthen her leadership, advocacy, and communication skills.
As part of this transgenerational leadership and dialogue model, the selected participant will engage with influential leaders, contribute to important conversations, and inspire other girls to become changemakers in their communities.

Eligibility criteria
Applicant should:
- Be a girl aged 18 to 24 years at the time of application.
- Be a Nigerian currently residing in Abuja.
- Demonstrate an interest in gender equality, leadership, advocacy, and activism.
- Show leadership potential and the ability to positively represent girls' leadership.
- Come from any background or ability. Girls from underrepresented or marginalised communities are especially encouraged to apply.
- Be willing to commit to the requirements of the programme.
- Members of existing youth networks and groups affiliated with Plan International Nigeria, including the Girls Get Equal (GGE) and Youth Advisory Panel (YAP), are encouraged to apply.
